Matawai No. 2.—The manager is vigorously prospecting this mine, with fair results so far. He has not obtained anything rich, but the show is
very good. Makiebel.—The manager is crushing a large parcel of general stulF, which is likely to yield a fair average return. The quartz is very highly mineralised, requiring the blankets to be washed continually, the reJJ suit being a large quantity which will have to be treated through the berdans. The mine is still well.
looking Union Beach.—Nothing of any great importance has occurred during the week in this mine. The tribute still appears to hang fire. One would think the directors would rather not have gold than get it through tribute.

Bismarck, — Tribliters are fairly at work again, and are likely to have another good crushing before many months. New Find (Paul's Creek).- A good deal of stir has been caused over the litigation on account of the above between Mr. Geo. McLeod and Messrs. French and McNeille, both parties claiming the ground, but the Warden decided in favour of the latter party. There is no doubt some very rich gold has been obtained, but whether it is plentiful remains to be seen. Still the successful owners are warranted in expecting the very best results.
