THE NEW BATTERY.
We have been shown the plans for the water-race in connection with the new bittery by the engineer, Mr F. Pavitt, and append a fe.v particulars. Starting from a point 300 feet above the site for the battery, the race will run in anorth and westerly direction for about 50 chains, picking up en route three tributaries of the Waiorontfomai stream, and also the Diamond Gnlly creek near the working of th«* P Claim. The race will be 2ft. G'm. wide at the bottom, sffc. at the top, with a depth of 2ft. Gin. No difficulties of any account occur to retard tue work
