HAWKE'S BAY.

East Co am.— Mr W. Kelly has addressed the Taupo constituents in connection with his candidature for the East Coast. He said that if returned he would favour free trade in native lands, and get the Thermal Springs Act modified. The Native Land Court should be held oftener ; a four-hcrse bi-weekly service renewed between Napier and Tauianga. He likewise should vote for money to keep roads in repair in the inland districts. He pledges himself to no party, but thinks Sir Geo. Grey the best leader of the Opposition. A unanimous vote of confidence and thanks was ghen. It is thought Mr Kelly will get nearly a block vote in Taupo. He left yesterday for Ohinemutu, accompanied by Ketreat Tapseel. who has been addressing his Maori constituents.
