LICENSING COMMITTEES.

WAITOA. The above held their annual meeting on the 2nd inst. in the school-room, Morrinsville. Present : Messrs W. P. Oliepitiell (chairman), F. Strange, IS. ISeddon, — Gubbins, au<l J. Turnbull.

RENEWALS. R. S. Brown, Nottingham Castle Hotel, Morrinsville. Granted. S. W Buck, Phoenix Hotel, Morrinsville. Granted. John Moffat, Te Aroha Hotel, Waitoa. Granted. A number of complaints were lodged daring the past year against the Nottingham Castle Hotel for the irregular manner in which it was conducted, and the chairman informed the applicant that should any further complaints I c made against the house ami the matter brought before them, the license would, without doubt, be cancelled. The pro- . prietor of the Phoenix Hotel was likewise cautioner for irregularities.

TE AROHA. The adjourned meeting of the alcove was held in the Court-house on this day week. Present : Messrs J. Laveiy (chairman), H. H. Adams, and G. Lipsey. The following business was transacted :—: — New License for new house — Edwin. HadfiVld, Commercial Hotel, Waiorongomai. Granted, subject to a 0-atall stable and urinal being erected before certificate is issued. New License for old houses. — G. S; O'Halloran, Hot Springs Hotel, Te Aroha. orranf.ed. T.
