THE RELATIVE STRENGTH OF PARTIES

Subjoined is an estimate of the streLgth of the Ministerial and Opposition patties, excluding the Speaker, at the opening of the session. It is based partly on the antecedents of members, ami partly on the declarations which certain of them have made, or are reported to have made, as to the position they will probably take when Parliament assembles. Concerning some on both sides, considerable allowance must, of course, be made } but the lists as arranged will, we apprehend, be found eventually to approximate as nearly a,& possible to the actual adjustment of the opposing forces.
