The Failure of the Oriental Bank. London, May 7. — The hearing of the petition in bankruptcy for winding up the affairs of the Oriental Bank Corpora tion has been adjourned by consent to 15th May. In the meantime it is hoped that arrangements will be made which Mill obviate the liquidation by the Court. The Oriental Bank Corporation has despatched, a special steamer to Mauritius to close its agencies on that island. The Brhish shareholders of the Oriental Bank have determined to form themselves into a defence committee to protect their interests.

Wreck of an Australian Steamer. The steamer Bulli, belonging to the Bulli Coal Company, N.S. \Y., whilst on her first voyage, bound from Glasgow to Sydney, went ashore at Capetown, and has since become a total wreck.
