GUNSHOT ACCIDENT AT HUNUA.

A sehkws accident has occurred to Mr Lockwood, who was out shooting with a friend. It appears that whilst in the act of holding the barrel of the gun in a downward position, the trigger caught in some under - growth, causing the weapon to explode. The charge of shot ploughed up the muscles of both thighs in several directions, and the .sufferer was taken on a sleigh to his father c- house, the rough roads causing conaderuble pain. A messenger was at once despatched to Messrs Erson and Stallard, surgeons, of Otahuhu, and the latter gentleman was promptly in attendarce. Upon arrival he lemoved a number of phots from the lower part of the body and dressed the wounds. We are glad to hear that, considering the t-eveiitie's ot the injuries, Mr Lockwood is progressing favourably, hU medical attendants having every hope of complete recovery. v j
