TO-DAY'S CRICKET MATCH.

We are glad to see that once really set going, tho noble game of cricket Ims many supporters, both here and in the sister township. - The recent matches have proved a source of much mt -rest and pleasure, not only to the players themselves but to the onlookers. To-day, a match of a veiy interesting nature takes place, viz., Married v. Single. The teams are selected from both Wutorongomai and Te Arolm ; tho players will be chnst'n from the following to represent the benedicts: — Messrs Pavitt, Lawless, Deeson, Hornibrook, Hunt, Quintan, Hirst, Hognn, Garter, Gobble, Frazer, Mitt'ord, and Purchas; whilst the bachelors elected to do service are — Messrs Frater, Parker, Steele, Trude, Scott, Coleimin, Mason, llobsou', James, Hawkins, and Fenton. Play vill connuence at 1 30. We trust that tho weather will be favourable, in whicn caso all who can conveniently spare time will be sure to be present. Much interest is manifested in this .match, whether any further matches (?) will result therefore remains to be seen. There is no doubt the single gentlemen have long odds iv their favour, judging from the form displayed in the recent contests. They are specially favoured with regard to good bowlers, but on the other hand, some of the steadiest all-round players will bo found amongst the " householders."
