TE AROHA PUBLIC HALL.
The first annual meeting of shareholder in the ToAvoha Public Hall and Reading Room Company, was held in the flail on Tuesday evening, Mr T. Wells in the chair. The Directors' report an 1 balance-sheet, which was of a satisfactory nature, were read and received. The revenue for the previous nine months amounted to £65 10s, of which £16. 12s 6J is still uncollected. A sura of £200 (to be repaid with interest s in sixty monthly instalments of £4 13s 4d) had been obtained on mortgage and of this sum £32 13s 4d has already been paid off. The income so far had amounted to twice the sum required to meet these redemption payments, half of which is now covered by the rental from the two front rooms which are let for 12s 6d per week. Several much-needed improvements are contemplated, such as painting, papering, and otherwise embellishing the interior, and these will probably be taken in hand at an early date. The liabilities, exclusive of mortgage, amount to £50 10s Gd. The assets, including rents and unpaid calls, are £164 15s. The balance-sheet will be published shortly.
