The usual monthly mooting of the Band of Hope was held in the school-house on Wednesday evening, (ho room being crowded, many having to rcnui.i outside. Mr Devcy, of Te Aroha, occupied the chair. The meeting opened with a In mn and prater, after which the chairman made a few remarks on the temperance eaine ana the good that it can do, and uiyed those who had not signed (he pledge to do so. A long programme was then gone through. The seeielary kindly thanked the Te Aroli.v iriends who kindly and ably assisted, also Mr and Mrs Thorne and Mr Hassett for the use of haniioiiium. It is intended to make g'eat improvements in the arrangements of the hall, etc. The next meeting will bo held on February 28th.
