Sir Stafford Nortlicote has given notice in the House of Commons of his intention to move on Tuesday next, the 12th inst., that the recent disasters to the Egyptians in iSoudnn are the results of the wavering policy of tho Government in connection with Egypt. Tho Marquis of Salisbury, in the House of Lord"*, gave notice of a similar motion to Northcofco's, and the disoussion was also fixed for Tuesday. It has tran«tpirp<l that the MediteiTanean Squadron, under Admiral Lord John Ilav, has been ordered to proceed without delay to Souakim. A force oi: twelve hundred marines will also embark at Portsmouth this week for the same destination. The Daily News publishes a telegram announcing that Gordon Pasha has been captured and made prisoner by the tribes near K-iro.sko, who are now in revolt. The B.ink of England to-day raised the rate of discount from 3 per cent to 3£ per cent.
Sydney, Friday. A motion, sotting forth that the tinnancial proposals ol.' the Government are not satisfactory, has been tabled by Young in the Legislative Assembly. It is understood that the mover is not acting in concurrence with the leaders of the Opposition party.
