The second race meeting under the auspices of the Onehunga Racing Club took place at the recreation reserve this afternoon, the weather being all that could be desired. There was a large attendance of Auckland visitors present, while the settlers from the adjoining districts also mustei'ed in good force. The speculative public wore well looked after, for besides the local bookmakers there were several Southerners present, and Mr W. Adams had also his totalisators on the ground. The following are the results that reached us up to the time of going to press :—: — Handicap Hurdles, of oOsovs. One mile and a half, over (J flights of hurdles. Woodpecker, list Tibs (Rae) 1 Shotover, Osl 21bs 2 Rakau, lOst 71bs 3 Seven started. Rakau got away with the start and led until the back of the course, when Woodpecker overhauled him, eventually winning by about a length. Totalisator dividend : £2 .)s. Maiden Plate of 20 soys. ; U miles ; weight for age : for horses that have never won an advertised prize exceeding 20 soys. Evening Star, 9st 41b (McC4ee) 1 Bryan O'Lynn, 9st 2 Strathearn, 9st 41b ... 3 This was a most exciting race. Won by a r.eck ; totalisator dividend, £4. Onehunga Cui> Handicap of GOsovs ; 1^ miles. Fishwoman, 7st Slbs (Sutherland) ... 1 Venture, 7st 21bs (A. By ers) 2 Kalo, 7st4lbs(McClusky) 3 The other starters A\ere : Paramena, Swordsman, and Yatapa. Won by half a length. Totalisator dividend, £3 12s. Selling Hack Race. — Mignonette, 1 ; Flying Mary, 2. Ten started. Totalisator dividend, £1 4s.
