CROWN LANDS BOARD. Auckland, January 17.

A .mkkting of this Board was held this afternoon, present : Messrs D. A. Tole (Chief Commissioner), Tonks, Moat, and Dr. Campbell. Communication from the Under Secretary for Crown Lands were received respecting the vaiious sums passed for payments. It was resolved that the several lload Boards be informed thereof. Waiuku. — Mr (ireenhouse of Waiuku ■« rote asking that the old Court House site be oiTerred ior sale. The Chairman moved that the site indicated be dealt with accordingly. Hklk^viuj:. — A letter was received from Mr -J. McLeod, of Helensville, desiring that the Hot Springs reserve be placed under the control of the local Board Tauranca. — Mr Burrows wrote requesting tlio Board to permit him to ti'ansfer his interest in certain land to be transferred to Mr Chater. It was resolved that applicant be informed that the matter must be iirbt notified in the newspapers, when it will come up for consideration by the Board in due course. Paparoa.— A letter was read from Mr John Sykes, cleric of the Papai'oa District Board, asking the Board to use its in fluencewith the Minister of public lands tor a grant of money for the opening of roads in the district. The Board considered that something should be done, and application made to the proper quarter. Crown Grant. — James Mackay applied for Crown grant for land at Waipu. — The Crown Hanger reported favourably, and the request was granted. — Mr Piggott, who had just returned from a lengthy sojourn in the Old Country, wished to re-possess forty acres allotted to him in 1565, — Forfeited by lapse ol time.
