There was a very good attendance at the meeting yesterday, and everything passed off successfully. The various events resulted as follows : —
Maidkn Hubdlks, i Fly 1 Amateur 2 Six started.
Hack Hurdles. Don Carlos 1 Northern Handicap, 1£ mile. Kalo, 7sfc 41b 1 Yuba Bill, Bst 41b 2 Libeller, Sst 121b 3 Libeller was a groat favourite. Won after a good itico by a neck. The rider of Yuba Bill entered a protest against Kalo for striking his horse, which was over-ruled. Nine started.
Publicans' Handicap. Yubaßill 1 Stanley 2 Rita 3 Foux' started. Won easily. Ladies' Purse. Deceiver 1 Investment 2 Four started.
The second day's racing of the Northern Jockey Club resulted as follows :—: — Handicap Hurdle Race ; 2 miles. — Harkaway (Heaton), 1 ; Trovatore, 2 ; Fly, 3. Maiden Plate; 1 mile and a-half. — Strathearn (Wattie), 1 ; Maid of Athens, 2 ; Multum in Parvo, 3. KEXSIN^JTOXPAKIcHANDICAIsTOeOVS.ImiIe and a-half.— Yuba Bill, B*t 121b (Wattie), 1 ; Woodpecker (7st 121b), 2 ; Kalo (Set 51b, 3. Six horses started. Settleks' Handicap. — Alaska (W. Simpson), 1 ; Lynette, 2 ; Maid of Athens, 3. Consolation Handicap. — Woodpecker, 1 ; Stanley, 2.
