The Spring Meeting of this enterprising little Racing Club is taking place this afternoon under favourable circumstances. The grand stand is graced by the presence of a few ladies, and speculation in gloves and coin is the weakness of the hour. Mr Robertsons b f Mitrailleuse (Sutherland) 1 Mr J. Balmain's b c Snider (Byers) ... 2 Mr W. Potter's b q Paramena (Ellis) ... 3 Mitrailleuse was favourite. A good start was effected. Mitrailleuse led neck and neck with Snider until the turn from th« straight, when Mitrailleuse went ahead and was never collared. He won eas-ly, hard held. Paramena an indifferent third. Totalisator, 517 subscribers, 2*28 on winner ; dividend, £1. Handicap Hurdlk Rack of (iOsovs.t. he second horse to receive lOsovs. from the stakes. One mile and a-half, Chandler (Rao) 1 Harkaway 2 Lone Hand (Williams) ... , 3 Chandler was backed at C to 4, and the result justified public confidence. He mon a capital race by a length or two from Harkaway. Lone Hand ran inside the post and retired. There were 711 in the totalisator, 346 on the winner ; dividend, 18s. St. Andrew's Handicap of 7osovs., with a sweepstakes of lsov. to second horse. Distance, 1 mile and a-half. Mr B. Distance, 1 mile. Mr W. Atkins Stray Shot 1 Mr Treffry's Flutter 2 Stray Shot won in a canter, and on being put up for sale afterwards, was bought bv Mr Reed for £14. Handicap Steeplechase of 50sovs., with a sweepstake of 2sovs. to second horse. Distance, about 3 miles. Mr J. Lennard's eh q Chandler, aged, 12st 51b (J.
