Co. — The winze to connect the low level with upper workings is now down 20 feet, gold is seen freely in the stone at every breaking down. New Find. — In another column will be found an advertisement calling for tenders for making necessary connections with the tramway. Tenders close July 4th at the Battery Company's Office, Waiorongomni.

Eureka Gr.M. Co.— Driving is still continued in this mine. The manager expects to get under the winze in a few days. Good crushing dirt still continues to come to hand.

Waiorongomai G.M. Co.— We understand a discoverj' lias been made in the company's ground within the last few days. No information having been furnished to us by anj'one in connection with the company, we are unable to famish, any report this week.

Fiery Cross and Star of the South, — These claims formerly hfld under licenses, and known as the Union Jack and Thistle licensed holding, have been taken up by Messrs. O'Shea and CFKeeflce. Prospecting is going on energetically. The known reputation of the owners as miners is sufficient guarantee that the ground will be well DrosDected.

May Quern. — Work has been starte d in tin's licensed holding, prospecting for the Wellington leader, which proved so rich in the latter ground. Good prospects have been obtained on the boundary of the claims. A few weeks work will no doubt uncover something of importance to the shareholders and the field. Vermont. — A drive has been started to intersect the reef which carried nice gold on the surface. The manager expects to cut the reef in a few da} 7 s.

Inverness. — This claim is still producing nice ffoldj and as the reef is driven on south it becomes more solid and compact. Welcome. — The men have been cm^ plowed timbering up preparatory to driving on the reef. This week will finish limbering, next week a level from the creek will be started, the shot of gold should soon come to hand, when some more good stone may be looked for.

Alphabet Licensed Holding. — "We understand the manager, in prospecting, has cut a reef showing good gold. No particulars are at present to hand regarding size, &c, so we shall have to hold

over full report till our next. Pikexix No. 2, and Delta Claims. — These claims have been pegged out within the last few days. The above claims join on to the Inverness Licensed Holding. Mr Ptivitt has surveyed both leases^ and a license has been applied for. Prospecting will be started immediately. Judging from the favourable position of the claims, we shall expect to have something good to report in a sLort time.
