ALLEGED FBAUD WELLINGTON, This Day. James Archer, formerly Town "Clerk at Masterton, appeared at the Magistrate's Court charged with making a false document . on March 28th, 1918, by signing the name "J. J. Murphy" to a receipt for £39 15/2. On the application of the police, accused was remanded to appear at Masterton on 7th. - The police stated that about a dozen additional charges are "pending. Bail was allowed in two sureties of £4OO each.
