OBITUARY.
MRS ELIZABETH ARCHER One of the very earliest of the settlers of this district, in the person of Mrs Elizabeth Archer, wife of Mr William Archer, passed , away at her residence yesterday, at the age of 72 I years. The deceased lady was born |»!; at Bethnal Green’'in 1868. She came to New Zealand with her husband 47 years ago and landed at Napier, and later took np residence at Wellington About twenty-seven years ago Mr and Mrs Archer came to the Taihape district, and Mr Archer was engaged in. making 1 the original Taihape road line. Mr and Mrs Archer then took up a section at Te Kapua, but retired a few years ago, and have been living* at Taihape since. About four years ago Mrs Archer suffered a paralytic stroke and her health had been bad since then Another stfbke yesterday brought on a hemorrhage which caused her death. Deceased, who leaves a family of two sons and three daughters, all of whom are married, was wellknown and respected throughout the district and the greatest sympathy will be extended to the bereaved ■r husband and
