A GIFT ACKNOWLEDGED.

When His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales visited the Southland Hospital in May last, the invalid soldier patients in the institution asked him to present to Queen. Alexandra a leather bag, of their own workmanship. A few days ago the secretary of the Hospital Board receiving, the following -acknowledgement of the gift;—-Sandringham, Norfolk. Queen Alexandra sincerely thanks the invalid soldiers at the Southland Hospital, Invercargill, New Zealand, for the charming souvenir programme of the visit of his Royal Highness the Prince of Wales to Invercargill, enclosed in the beautiful leather bog, which they have been kind enough to send to her. Her Majesty is much touched by this mark of loyalty and devotion of the brave men who fought so splendidly for the Motherland .during the Great War.”
