MELBOURNE SALES. AN IRREGULAR MARKET. Received 12.20 p.m. MELBOURNE, This day. At the wool sales, the market continued to' show great irregularity. High prices"were paid for best lots. pence was ealised for a top lot of Mooraborg clip—a record for the Melbourne market. There wore heavy withdrawals of ordinary wools.
MELBOURNE, This day. The inter-State Conference of woolgrowers, brokers, and fellmongers' adopted the main features of Justice Higgins’ scheme without amendment. The Conference subsequently waited on Mr Hughes and induced him to cable the Imperial authorities, asking them to agree, also appointing Mie Australian Association sole agent for sale of Britain’s half of the carry over. Mr Hughes warmly referred to cable despatched yesterday. (The recommendation reffreed to Is “That the British Government be asked to terminate its wool contracts on, say, December 31, milking a division of cash, wool and other assets in the ratio of 50 to 50; that the new Realisation Association then take control of its share.”)
