J The Raetihi Town Board applied for permission to cut 2000 approximately,
silver pine poles in Manganui S.D», m-, stead of '4OO, approximately, as previously authorised. —It was resolved to■* •authorise the cutting of 2000 pole* '• Mr H. A. Merry, railway surface-- , man, Piopiotea, applied for a tempor- : ary lease of 180 acres approximately, . situated north cf Wainjarino township, in,block XVI., Manganui S.D.—lt wasresolved to grant, a year to year lease under section 130 of the Land Act, 1908, at a Cental of £9 per annum, subject to the usual conditons. j Consideration was given to the ques- ' tion of the disposal of section 1, block XIV., Retaruke S.D., containing 1626" acres. —It' was decided to open tis • I section for application and ballot in . the usual number at a capital value of " j £2OOO. • / ' Messrs Harris and Tansey, Barris- - IfeTs and Solicitors, of Raetihi, wrote 'on bfhalf of Mr A. F. J. Hebbend, ' stating that the tease of section 14, block VI.. Makotuku 8.D., offered to their client, could not be accepted by ' him, and asking that he be granted a lease for a fixed term on more acceptable conditions. The board stated that a better lease could not be given at the present time, that was until reservation was lifted, when the section i ; could, be sold for cash', weighted with s valuation for improvements.
