LONDON WOOL SALES. Messrs Dalgety and Co;- Ltd. report having the following cable frond their London Office under date of 12th inst: “Wool sales continued, slightly better demand at the decline. 36/40’s slightly below, 44/46’s about appraisement prices, 48/56’s slightly above, 58/64’s 40 per cent, to 50 per cent, above. Cannot quote closer owing to small quantity sold. Sale very irregular.’’
HIDES AND TALLOW SALES. Dalgety & Co. Ltd., Palmerston N., report holding their usual monthly sale of hides, calf skins, and tallow on Thursday, 11th November, 1920. Compared with our last sale rates, there was a "considerable drop in prices. Ox declined about 6d per lb, cow hides Bd, yearlings 6d, calf skins 4|d per lb and tallow 10/ per cwt. To-day’s prices here are on a par with all other sale centres. We quote: Heavy ox 9d to 9 d per lb, medium ox B|d to 8 7-8 d; light ox 6:|d to 7Jd; heavy cows 7Jd to 7 l-Bd, medium cows 6|d to 7 l-8d; light cows 6§d to 7 3-8 d; slippey cut and inferior Id to 6fd; yearling and kips 6d to 8d; best calf 16£d to 17d; good calf 14d to 1633; stained and meaty lOd to 1633; slippy cut and inferior 2d to 1033; horse hides 5/ to 14/; tallow in tins 27/3 per cwt.; horse hair 19|d per 18.
