THE POULTRY INDUSTRY.
“THERE’S MILLIONS IN IT.” WELLINGTON, Nov. IS. •A deputation comprising the executive of the New Zealand Poultry Association waited on the Minister of Agriculture to-day and asked for 3 a more progressive policy regarding the poultry industry, which it was urged could he made worth twenty million pounds a year to the country. The number of instructors was quite inadequate, and the status should be raised to that of inspectors in 'other branches of the' Agricultural Department. The Minister was urged to send the chief poultry expert and a prominent poultry dealer to the Hague Conference in .1921. The question of the adulteration of poultry foods was also touched on.
The Minister said he would take time to look into the representations made. Their requests would receive his very careful consideration, and a reply would be forwarded later.
