TWO MINUTES’ SILENCE. TO BE OBSERVED LOCALLY. The following telegram was received tTy His Worship the Mayor (Mr. A. J, Jobliu) to-day: “His Majesty has commanded that: at 11 a.m. on Thursday, 11th instant, work and locomotion shall cease for a period of two “minutes in commemoration of the signing of the armistice of November 11, 1918. so that in perfect stillness the thought of everyone may be concentrated on the remembrance of the glorious dead.
