OHUTU NOTES. . .... # (From Our Own Correspondent). "We are having some very cold weather for this time of the yea T—not two months from Christmas-r-and everyone around has a good fire going in the evenings. A very heavy hail storm passed over here, although our village only got, the tail end of it. Upthe Gorge Road, the hail was staekod up several inches along the walls of' the houses, and on window-sills. On Monday morning the hail bad not-: thawed, and could be gathered up in shovelfuls. Some of the hailstones = were as big as goo<} sized marbles. Many old settlers say they never saw such big hailstones here before.
Once more we are to be without a folacksmith in our little village, Mr McCombie having, sold his residence here, and is giving up the business. Although he has only been no** a few months he.had worked up o, nice little irasiness and will be missed oy mar-y Of the fanners who used tc oome in fiere and leave their horses to get BKod while they went on to town *>y llrain.
