AMUSEMENTS

TOWN HALL PICTURES.

TO-NIGHT.

Human flotsam tossed up by a cruel sea —used as a dupe' by a band of thieves, one of whom poses as her father—loved by a famous singer from Broadway—these are few of the thrilling incidents that befall Louise Luff in the title role of "The Sea Waif," a world feature? The play is full of exciting incidents, and the suspense is breathlessly held right to the finish. Mingled with the theme or sea-robbers, ship-wrecks, and treachery is a charming love story of a dainty adorable little girl and a famous musical comedy star. The story was written by Lieut. H. I. Young while serving in the trenches: in France —but it fs not a war story.

'WEDNESDAY NIGHT,

BIG .BILL RUSSELL.

On Wednesday at the Town ' Hall the popular Fighting Bill Russell will make his appearance in "Brass Buttons," the new William Russell production. "Big Bill Russell is as athletic and ingratiating as ever - "Brass Buttons" has an uncommonly interesting plot, with just the right blend or romance comedy and thrill. The idea of the story is that a millionaire is in love witTi a ladyjte maid, wno is really a millionaire's daughter, and in order to win her favour, he borrows the unifom of the Chief of Poßee for a little while, leaving the chief in a taxi-cab to await his return. But things happen in such rapid and bewildering succession that the pseudo cop fails to turn up, and there is a real mix-up, which js only straightened out in the finale by Cupid "himself. The Mary Page serial will also be shown.
