Reieived 9.10 a.m. BERLIN, October 5. Professor Schlossman, in an article -in the Medical Journal, shows that the shortness of food' in Germany has not affected infantile mortality. On the oH'her hand, in Dusseldorf, the in-, fantile mortality in 1919 was only 10.6 per thousand, compared with an average all over Germany of 13.6 per thousand in 1916, 15.5 in 1917, and 15.4 in 1918. Professor Schlossman says the figures confirm the conviction that overfeeding is one of the chief causes of infantile mortality.
