WEDDING.
WELCH. TdEAN. A marriage of considerable interest was celebrated at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Welch, Winiata, Taihape on September 29th, 1920.‘ The contracting parSes were Madge, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Welch, and Lewis Eicbard, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Dean, 'of Winiata.
- The ceremony was conducted by the Eev. J. 0. Loan in the spacious draw-ing-room. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a bridal robe of ivory silk eolinne and Satin, trimmed with pearls and sprays of orange-blossoms. The veil, which was .richly embroidered, fell to the ground, and was held in place by a coronet of orange-blossoms. A shower bouquet of white cyclamen, azaleas and .asparagus fern completed (the toilette. The bridesmaids were Miss Enid Welch, sister of the bride, and Miss Alice Dean, sister of the bridegroom, the best man being Mr. Albert Dean. The bridesmaids were dressed in shell pink crepe de chine and turquoise blue georgette, their bouquets being of pale mauve anemones with lavender streamers, and pale pink anemones with pink si reamers. The presents of the bridegroom to the bridesmaids were gold chain and an opal ring.
After the wedding breakfast had been partaken of, and the several toasts proposed and responded to, the happy couple left amid showers of rice and confetti by the afternoon’s train for Palmerston North. The bride’s travelling costume was of niggerbrown and hat of biscuit tagel straw.
