RUSSIA AND POLAND.
POLISH SUCCESSES. Received 11.55 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 27.. It is reported from Warsaw that the Poles captured Grodno, taking many prisoners, and much war material. Grodno will, it is understood, be under the protection of the League of Nations.
It is pointed out* that only another month’s campaigning is possible before winter stops operations. The new move is said to be preparatory to an offensive against the Red army Concentrated in the Minsk-Lida sector, as nnless their destruction is achieved before the winter, these forces will be to crush Wrangel, leaving the Bolsheviks free to attempt to overran Poland Jn the spring.
