ASISTANCE FOR SYNDICATE,
WELLINGTON, This Day.
The Air Board has suggested to the Minister of Defence that some planes owned hy the Government should bo lent to the South Canterbury syndicate which proposes to establish an aerial mail and passenger service between Timaru, Dundein, and Invcrcar-
gill, and between "Tiruaru and Mount Cook. These machines were presented to New Zealand by the Imperial Government, andi it is considered' that they should not be held in store, since they will become obsolete.
The Government has not made an announcement regarding the proposal, but some machines have been sent to Timaru for use by the syndicate in making necessary route tests. The Company pays expenses, and is responsible for the safety of the machines.
AVIATORS’ BODY RECOVERED.* WELLINGTON, this day. The Air Ministry advises that the body of the flying officer, Neale Fitzgerald Eagar, of New Zealand, has been recovered in Sinai, Palestine. Eagar was studying for Holy Orders at St. John’s College, Auckland, when the war broke out, left with Tee Main Body, but exchanged into the Royal Air Force five years ago.
