CONSTABLE SHOT DEAD. VOLUNTEER SHOT NINE TIMES. LONDON ,Sept. 9; At Galway railway station at midnight, a party of Sinn Feiners shot dead Constable Krumm, an ex-seldier, after a desperate struggle, in which Krumm killled three of his assailants and wounded others. Subsequently the homes of civilian volunteers were raided. One man was dragged from his bed and tied to a' lamp-post, where he received nine bullets. He died from his wounds. ASSISTANCE FOR POLICE. Received 9 a.m. » LONDON, Sept. 10. Four,, hundred members of the Royal Irish Constabulary, recruited in England, have arrived in Dublin to assist the Metropolitan police. t ( CHALLENGE TO LLOYD GEORGE. LONDON Sept. 9. Mr Griffiths dares Mr Lloyd Georgto establish an impartial tribunal to investigate Mac Curtain’s murder. He indicates that the Sinn Fein is able to produce evidence proving the police guilty. MORE VICTIMS. LONDON Sept. 9. constables were ambushed at Tullow, and two killed.
* \ MISS McSWEBNEY HYSTERICAL. LONDON Sept. 9. Miss McSweeney attended the Trade Union Congress and pleaded for an opportunity to address the delegates. Mr Thomas informed Congress that it would he madness to allow it, owing to the terrible strain she was undergoing. Congress agreed and she left the gallery shouting “Traitors. ”
