SKATING CARNIVAL.
me dates fixed for the. grand skatKsig carnival at the Tail rape Uink are 410th September and Ist October, 3920. The carnival will be plain and fancy, :and in! the latter connection, 'Some really 'excellent and novel costumes 'Will, be seen. A number of skaters from other centres are competing in some of the events, but these will be well handicapped. The programme of events comprises sonic of the most novel and spectacular events ever put on in Taihape. and for competitors and spectators allike two good evenings’ amusement are assured. The grand march will commence at 8.15 p.m., ancl masks must be worn. For tbcir own benefit, skaters should reserve their skates. On Wednesday next a practice for the grand march will be held.
