POLISH SUCCESSES. Received 11.40 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 1. Lithuanian official circles in London learn from Kovno that on. 31st August the Poles attacked the Lithuanian troops near Augustovo Canal, causing grave casualties. The Poles occupied Suwalki and are advancing towards Hokuai. QUIET ON THE FRONT. BOTH SIDES RE GROUPING FORCES. LONDON, Aug. 31. Except in the Lemberg where fierce fighting continues, operations on the Polish front have died down. Both sides are evidently busy re grouping their forces.
