SEND-OFF TO MR AND MRS C. CHERRY. At the: Three Stars Theatre last. night there was a gathering of about 50 couples to participate in a farewelL social tendered to Mr un<j Mrs G.. Cherry by the Gretna Hotel Staff and other friends. During the evening; dancing was indulged in by those present arifl vocal items were interspersed with the dances. Mr W. J. Munro in a happy speech.. referred to the many excellent qualities of the guests, and on behalf of"* their numerous friends presented Mr and Mrs Cherry with a handsome oak tray and a fine piece of silverware. Mr Cherry, on behalf of "Mrs Cherry and himself, thanked those present for the good wishes they had expressed, and to 1" fc tte i r tangible token of" goodwill. The music was supplied by Mr Brown and extras were played byMisses McPhee and I. Treadwell. The function was a most successful one, and was thoroughly indicative of the esteem in which Mr and Mrs Cherry were held during their residence In Taihape.
