He is eager to impress everyone with the worthiness of his family particularly as he is desirous of becoming Mayor of his town. From a series of outward developments are evolved most 'laughable situations. His younger daughter is expelled from college for flirting with a choir boy, his only son is arrested for drunkenness and assaulting the police, he surprises his elder daughter in the arms qjf his chauffeur, and he discovers that his wife was a widow when he married her although she had kept that fact secret from him for thirty years.
