A REPLY.

WELLINGTON, This Day. Archbishop O’Shea, in replying to-, remarks made in Parliament, denies that the Catholic Church teaches that all marriages contracted according to the law of the land are not valid marnges, or that it brands the children of such marriages as illegitimate. It is false, ho says, that the Catholic marriage laws in any way interfere with the civil law, and complains that his church was not informed of the charges against it, and had not had an opportunity of being heard before the Committee of the Legislative Council, and so it could not offer a refutation.
