NEW PLYMOUTH, July 1»A prisoner in New Plymouth gaol named Alan Talbert, aged 65, serving a sentence of reformative detention on a second conviction for indecent assault, committed suicide when returning from work. He suddenly saifl "Good-bye friend," to a warder, and! leaped over a bank 50 feet into a quarry, falling on rails used for trucks and expiring an hour later. At an inquest to-day a. verdict of "suicide, no neglect by officials," was returned.
