SKATING.

Skating without doubt is getting a big hold on lovers of sport and fun, and it is. evident that patrons who go to the rink are more than satisfied with their evening's sport there. For this week there is to be a big race of one mile, which is to be held on Thursday; also on tbo same night the 1 rrink will try c-onQJusions with the Rovers, and a good game is assured. Ladies are requested to roll up on Tuesday evenings, and to bring a part- j ner in order to make their evening a j success. The grand plain and fancy i dress carnival is to take place early j uext month, and is going- to be one of the greatest skating carniva's ever held) fin Taihape. Competitors- are coming from other centres, so Taihape must be prepared to hold its own. ' Bhatino- is also privately taught by the management. j
