SKATING.

Skating is proving itself still strong among lovers of clean, healthy sport, and as an exercise it is a great boon for those that are shut up in offices all day. A tremendous lot of work has been put on the floor and the floor jis looking in splendid condition. The ladies are taking great interest in their Thursday evening session, which is sure to be a great success. Ladies are requested to bring a gentleman partner. No boys' will be allowed on the floor. The grand plain and fancy I dress carnival is to take place shortj i y> and patrons are requested to reserve their skates. This skating carnival is going to be worked on a grand scale and will prove to be an event worth looking forward to. The hockey last week was a great success, considering hockey o n skates has never been tried here before. Next Thursday there will be four tarns competing: Pakehas v. Rovers and Huias v. Dinkems. The matches commence at 9.15.
