Many spectators from all over the city were very interested‘ in the game, as it was -the first of the season which has taken place among the secondary schools of"-Auck-land. From the very kick off Sacred Heart College held ‘the field with a Sacred Heart College, the score being to barrack for each team. Sacred Heart College, having all their boarders present, soon make their team very excited, by their strong barracking. The game ended in a great- win for -Sacred Heart College, the scare being 56 to nil. On Saturday, May 29, the same two telams will meet before the public on Eden Park, but we hope it will be -a more even game. Hoping you have a small space in your paper each week for the report of the Auckland Secondary Schools‘ football matches. -

The match referred to by our eontributor as to be played on the 29th, duly -took place, and resulted in a win ‘for Sacred Heart College by 20 to 0. The following is.a short description of the game:——’l‘he fi'ra’t matdh of the ‘secondary schools senior competition was played between Technical College and Sacred Heart, and resulted in an easy victory for the latter. The losing team was hardly up to the standard of first grade, and was on the defensive for the greater portion of the game. Sacred Heart combined very fairly, their first try coming from a back movement. Later Griffin and Bain ‘got tries, and before the spell finished ’O’Brien, Fleming, and Bain got a try a-piece, Griflin converting one, bringing‘Sacred Heart score to 20 points. The last quarter of an hour (the game being. started l-ate) did not see any alteration in the score, Tec.hnical playing better, and having one or two opportunities of opening up their account. Sacred Heart lost a good opportunity of scoring through Rae holding on, and -the game ended with the score unaltered. In the third grade Sacred Heart beat Technical College by 21 to O. _ At, the meeting of the Kirr: Counfry Rugby Fnion permission was granted -to the Taumarunui and Hanaroa.
