Kinsem a.nd Miss Gold were quickest to lb-egin from'a good start, and nlade the running from Egmonte Park and Matatane In the straight the field closed up, and a good race ensued. Miss Gold won by a neck from Egmont Park, Ruddy being a, head away and just in front of Kinsem. Time 1.15‘?!-5.

Luke was a good favourite, but First Cali, Sir Donald and Ngakanui were all well backed. First Call made the early running,.. then Sir Donald got in front and 133 -_ over the last fence. just in front of“ Ngakanui and Silent Dick. After a great race home the judge declared a dead heat. between Sir Donald and Ngakanui.» Luke was third, three»lengths back, and Silent Dick fourth. Time 4.13 2-5.
