PRESENTATION.
‘ On Saturday evening last, Mjss J_ ißremner gave an evening) which took the form of a social and dance, to say farewell to her many friends prior to leaving Tai-hape to live in Auckland. There were over one hundred present. Mr W. Murphy, on behalf of those present, asked Miss Bremner’s acceptance of :1 case of silver-mount-ed hair brushes, ‘suitably inscribed, as a mark of their esteem. Mr A. Bremner responded on behalf of his sister, thanking he donors for their valnajble gifts and cordial greetings. Dancing and games served to make the even‘ing pass most pleasantly, songs being contributed by Miss Tronson and Messrs Dawson and Miller. One of the most interesting and amusing ‘items of the evening was the holding of a mock court, in which Messrs V. Harris, Hamill, Hill, Cowie, and Hunt were court oflicials. TheAOrder of the Bath was conferred on Mr David Hay in a most impressive manner, and caused great fun_._ A sumptuous supper was partaken of, and the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” bnought a most enjoyable evening’ to a close.
