The Manawatu Autumn Meeting meati.ng_ -opened yestertlay in fair weather. The course was holding after the previous ‘three days’ rain. There was a fair affendance, and the tote handled £41,699, as against £36,095 for the same day last year. Concluding results:- _ Prince of Wales’ Handicap, one mile and a furlong.——Dainty Step (R. D. Won by half'_a length in a .good finish, ‘Whizz Bank close ’up third. Gruiani—form and "Self Alliance fell. The latter broke a leg and was des*troyed. Time, 2.5.
Gold Cup.———Amythas (J. McFlynn) 1, Arrowsmith 2, Vagabond 3. Also staxjted: Lady Star. Miss Gold. Miss Gold Ic-it for half the 'di§'tancp, and then gave way to Amythas and Arrowsmith. These -two fought every yard of the rest of the journey, and in a great finish fhe former Won, all out, by a. bare length, Vagabond Well back third. Time, 2.13 3-5.

Also ran: ‘Sir Fanciful, Kilgour, ‘Heather -Sprig, Irapuka, Asterina, Passin’ Through, Yankee Dan, War Baby, Miss Love, Empyrean, Stuitter, Utuvvai, Mumble, Lady Paula, Quiniro, Namur, Sling Camp, Achillion. Won ‘by a head in an exciting finish, third horse close up. Time, 1.15. Telegraph Handicap, six furlongs.——Bo Peep (L. G.
