| A SURE KILLER LOOSE.‘ 1 -~—-- g Mr S. S_. Timbs writes requesting ithat farmers be warned that dogs are about worrying sheep. Mr Timbs had two fat sheep killed in broad daylight, on Saturday, on the farm lately‘ owned by J. Mccracken. He killed one of the two dogs caught in the act a good-looking close coated. dark bay sheep dog. Apparently a. good dog; Iseemingly led away by his companion, a cunning rascal, and a killer. Thiscunning hound got away, and that is why Mr Timbs Wishes to warn sheep§owners to keep a lookout, and other ‘dog-owners‘ to keep their dogs on the chain when not working. The dog’ killed, unfortunately, had no collar lon .During the past twelve months Mr Timbs has lost nearly £IOO worth of sheep by worrying, and he says: “What with dogs and other nuisances, grazing sheep in the vicinity of the town is getting to become nothing‘ better than an expensive hohfiby, instead of being a profitable"husiness. pursuit.
