.\ country schoolmaster was charged with ill-treating a boy of eleven by cutting one of his fingers with a knife. The injury was inflicted during a lesson about lizards. The child having said he would like to see a lizardis tan cut off, the feacher in evidence said he scratched the boy’s fingers thinking that would impress upon his mind that he should not be ci-uel to animals.
