1 A very pretty wedding took place on [March 24th at me Church of England, {Halcombe-. The contracting parties lwere Miss Millicent. Jessie Cowdray, fielder daughter of Mrs F. Cowdray, )Halcombe, and Mr Martin Swenson, elder son of Mr Martin Swanson, Taihape. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in 3 green ivory crepe dc chine, beautifully trimmed with pearls and silver fringes. she Wore a lovely wreath and veil, and carried a beautiful shower bouquet of asters, sweet peas, and maiden hair fern. The chief bridesmaids were Miss Dolly 'SWenson (sister of the bridegroom), who wore a blue silk aeoline finished with gold edgings, and a. hat of black tulle; and Miss Nancy Cowdray (sister of the bride), who wore a. pink silk voile with gold lace overall, and bar of black lace. ’l‘hcy carried shower bouquets of asters and sweet peas. Miss Jean Davisp (neice of the bride) was flower girl, and -wore a» pretty white silk frock, and carried a basket of lovely flowers. The bridegroom presented the bride ; with a gold wristlet watch, and to the (bridesmaids and flower girl geld ibrooches. Mr H. Souffleat acted as best man, and Mr ‘Tom Swenson as ‘ groomsnian. The reception was held at ‘the Forester’s Hall, Haloombé, which was beautifully done up for the occasion. After the wedding breakfast thebridal party motored to Feilding, where the happy couple left for the South midst. showers of confetti and D good wishes. The bride travelled in a costume of grey cloth with hat t 0 lmatch. There were many telegrams I from absent friends and relations. The presents were numerous ‘arid. kostly, ‘including several cheques. The bride/s mother wore a gown of black cm-alcd ,'silk, with hat to match, She earned la bouquet of pink asters. The bride-—. lgrooln’s mother were a black satin icostume, 'with black hat, and carried. La. bouquet of mauve asters.
