Booth and Coy’s. planing mill was destroyed by fire last night,.togethel' with a. considerable quantity of timber. Work ‘ceased at 5 o’clock aind at the final inspection at 6 oiclock all‘ was safe. At 10.30 the building Was discovered a seething mass of flames, and nothing was saved. Insurances: £IOO on building and £405 on machinery and timber; offices not yet available. The mill was lighted throughout with electricity. In addition £4OO worth of corrugated iron stored. in the mill was destroyed but not insured. Three years ago a suction gas plant was «put in at a cost of £BOO, The estimated loss is £3OOO. or £4OOO. Rebuilding is to commence at once. A curious coincidence is noted in that a house owned by Booth was mysteriously fired during Easter of last yearl. and an anonymous letter received threatening more. ’
