THE KING'S. NOTES ON “THE HANGING JUDGE." The second of the English films t 0 lbe released in New Zealand since the Fwar is a Hepworth production, “The [Hanging Judge” in five reels, with ‘Chrissie White and Henry Edwards :in the lead. It will she remembered 3t.ha.t, these two splendid artists appémed in -the leading roles of .“‘Broken ‘Th;-eadS'.’ and their work in that picture stamped them as performers of ‘u very high standard. Each reaches [an even higher standard in this latest release which in every way is a stronger and more attractive picture. “The Hanging Judge” is a screen adaptation of the book and play b.V the famous author. Tom Gallon was prepared for the screen by Henry Edwards. The cast includes many wellknown English performers. Besides the two leading artists, Hamilton Stewart as the Judge gives a remarkable performance. Mr Stewart is recognised are one of England's most famous actors, and is not unknown to us‘ in New Zealand, having visited this country some time ago with J. C. Williamsonfs company appearing in‘
“Sherlock Holmes” and other productions. A live wire “Christy Comedy” is also on the bill for this evening.
