TOWN IMPROVEMENT SCHEME.
QUESTION OF SUPERVISION’.
At the February meeting -of the Taihape Borough Council, Mr Menzies, Town Clerk, yielding to pre.~ssure, consented to superyise the works in connection with the expenditure of the £17,000 loan, stating in e'onlpli.-.u13.e with the Couneil’s expressed wish, that he would give the proposal a trial. After a nlonth’s operations Mr Menzies found that it was impossible for him to continue the Work of supervision, for reasons which he enuzner.-3: ted in a letter (dated March 11th), and which was laid on the table at the last meeting of that body.
