ASSISTANT PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSIONER.
DUNEDIN, March 22.
A deputation of ('3?-Ego Public Servants waited on ‘the Hon. H, R. Spence, Collector of Customs, to-day, to ask if he would be prepared to accept nomination in the event of the Government providing for a, nominee from the Public ‘Service for the position of Assistafit. Public ServiceCommissioner. Mr Spence, who has had «long experience in the service in New Zcaland, and was recently on ‘the staff of the High COmmissioner’s Oflice, London, agreed to nomination.
